Kojo X. Johnson began studying Capoeira in 1988 with Nana Kweku Sakyi in Washington DC. In 1993 he dedicated himself to the study of Capoeira Angola under Mestre Cobra Mansa. It was through Mestre Cobra Mansa and Mestre Moraes that he was first introduced to the world of Capoeira in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil in 1994.
